TRUMP’S DRAGGING US BACK TO THE FIFTES TO “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN” CONTINUES FULL SPEED AHEAD

NEW OBAMA CARE REPLACEMENT BILL PUTS EVEN MORE PEOPLE IN JEOPARDY THAN THE LAST ONE BUT WE EXPECTED THIS!

As we all know, it’s hard keeping up with the daily exposes – intelligence leaks flowing like water over Niagara Falls, new subpoenas for more Trump associates from even more investigative bodies, more evidence that Trump and Republicans really don’t give a shit about anyone but the rich – and it makes it really hard to know what to focus on.  But a fairly short, Page A-16, article in this morning’s Washington Post caught my attention.

We all remember when during the Presidential Campaign Trump negotiated with Carrier Air Conditioning company (a division of United Technologies) to stop them from moving jobs to Mexico.  After all, Trump is nothing but our great leader who’s going to bring back all those good paying Rust Belt manufacturing and industrial jobs.   In case you need a refresher (which would be entirely understandable since anything that happened last years seems as if it took place in the 1990’s) here’s a video clip of Trump claiming he had saved Carrier employees jobs:

Note that it was the state of Indiana who gave Carrier $7 million in tax breaks to buttress Trump’s promise.  Here’s a local Indianapolis, Indiana, television news broadcast about the saving of Carrier’s jobs:

Well, like so many of Trump’s other promises, this one was worth about as much as his latest Twitter tweet.  Here’s a couple of paragraphs from today’s WashPo:

"Carrier, the company President Trump pledged to keep on American soil, informed the state of Indiana this week that it will soon begin cutting 632 workers from an Indianapolis factory. The manufacturing jobs will move to Monterrey, Mexico, where the minimum wage is $3.90 per day.
That was never supposed to happen, according to Trump's campaign promises. He told Indiana residents at a rally last year there was a "100 percent chance” he would save the jobs at the heating and air-conditioning manufacturer.
About 1,400 positions were on the chopping block, per company estimates. Over the past year, Trump has claimed he could maintain at least 1,100 of those jobs in the United States. But on Monday, the company gave official notice to Indiana officials that it would start laying off workers at the factory on July 20 and keep slashing staff until approximately 800 factory employees remain.

“This action follows a thorough evaluation of our manufacturing operations,” wrote Steven Morris, a Carrier manager in Indianapolis, in a memo Indiana’s Department of Workforce Development received Monday,“and is intended to address the challenges the business faces in a rapidly changing industry.

The dismissals, he added, are “expected to be permanent.”

Since “jobs” was Trump’s prime attraction – at least one of them although I suppose rounding up illegals might top jobs on his to do list - to his supporters, I’m wondering how they are going to view this?  Sure, Russiagate?  Made up, fake, liberal lamestream media news according to the Rust Belters.  But this isn’t made up.  Carrier has made a “business decision” just like hundreds of companies before them, to move jobs to Mexico despite Trump’s and the State of Indiana’s efforts to induce Carrier to keep jobs in Indiana.
Look, I’m through with Trump and have been since he took to the campaign trail.  While I expected bad cabinet appointees ranging from conservative to arch conservative, I didn’t quite envision his appointing cabinet heads who don’t seem to have a clue about what the agency he or she heads actually does (Betsy DeVos) and agency heads who have a stellar history of suing the agency they now head up (Scott Pruitt).  But he has.  Based on his campaign rhetoric – “I will protect Medicaid” and “I will give you low cost, health insurance for everyone” – I’m not sure what I expected since he seemed to be dipping into both conservative and liberal social and economic policies.  But what’ happened is that Trump has simply bent over, stuck his ass high in the air, to be fucked silly by Paul Ryan and Ryan’s campaign to destroy America’s working and middle classes.

And There You Have It For Another Trump Filled Day!
