Now I can’t guarantee that this is really a record, but then, who the fuck cares!  It’s Trumpland folks!

Okay, let’s not hash the Comey firing obstruction of justice action.  After all that was a week ago and ancient history here in Trumpland.  But this latest one is a doosey: spilling classified information – which would be sufficient to charge anyone else in the entire country with a felony – which is not only on its face insufferable, but to the Russian Ambassador and Russia’s Foreign Minister?   WHAT THE FUCK?

Naturally, all the Trump apologist pundits are defending him and slamming the Post article as Fake and/or False News.  The effort, however, is just as laughable and ridiculous as was the excuse that he fired Comey for being mean to Hillary Clinton.  The White House and Trump minions are basically saying that, no, he did not pass on any classified info to the Russians.  Here’s what they are saying:

“The president and the foreign minister reviewed common threats from terrorist organizations to include threats to aviation,” said H.R. McMaster, the national security adviser, who participated in the meeting. “At no time were any intelligence sources or methods discussed, and no military operations were disclosed that were not already known publicly.”

McMaster has since described the Washington Post’s revelation as “false,” Fake News in other words.   In their statements, White House officials emphasized that Trump had not discussed specific "intelligence sources and methods," rather than addressing whether he had disclosed higher than Top Secret information drawn from uber-sensitive sources to the Russians.

But here’s the real deal.    In bragging about how U.S. intelligence agencies had received intelligence about the latest laptop ban, Trump identified the city from which the intelligence had originated.  The problem now is that anyone can figure out which country has a secret agreement to exchange classified intelligence with the United States, which effectively blows that source out of the water.  I'm sure that even the Russians can Google the name of the city to find out what country is secretly supplying us with classified info.  My bet on the city Trump identified is Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Republic or Manama, the capital of Bahrain, two Middle East countries that cooperate with the United States – the UAE has troops in Yemen and the U.S. has a base in Bahrain.   If it is either of these two nations – or another country in the Middle East like Jordan, Syria or Saudi Arabia – Trump has basically blown one vital source of intelligence about ISIS totally out of the water.

As the Post described what went on:

Trump went on to discuss aspects of the threat that the United States learned only through the espionage capabilities of a key partner. He did not reveal the specific intelligence-gathering method, but he described how the Islamic State was pursuing elements of a specific plot and how much harm such an attack could cause under varying circumstances. Most alarmingly, officials said, Trump revealed the city in the Islamic State’s territory where the U.S. intelligence partner detected the threat.

Such agreements are, by the way, above even Top Secret classification and such information is not shared beyond a very tight circle of intelligence officials.    The Administration’s parsing of the leak continues along the vein that Trump did not reveal "sources, methods or military information."  None, however, have actually stated that Trump did not reveal or did not pass on highly classified info as the Post and now the New York Times claims.  Note also that in the laptop bomb revelation, it has been announced the press (including the biased, liberal lamestream press) agreed not to reveal the source of the intelligence, what country, what foreign intelligence agency or where the information came from.  When you think about it, there has been zip info about all these items even though the laptop ban item is over two weeks old.  But then, President Trump goes and blows the shit wide open to the Russians.  THE RUSSIANS?   Oh, and by the way, ALL the Administration’s denials are worded exactly the same.

There is absolutely no doubt that any other American could and most likely would be prosecuted for such a breach of revealing classified information.  Trump, of course, as a sitting President, cannot be prosecuted.  On the other hand, this incident, like the Comey firing incident, is not going to endear him to the FBI, CIA, NSA and all the other intelligence agencies.

It’s difficult to parse Trumps motivation.  Just bragging about how great are relationships with other countries in sharing intelligence information?  If this is the case, then Trump – as Hillary Clinton proclaimed on many occasions – is simply unqualified for the Presidency.    If it was a “mistake” then does Trump not realize that Russia is on Bashar al Assad’s side in Syria while we, the United States of America, are on the side of the rebels fighting this murderous President?  At least we were until January 20, 2017 when Trump was inaugurated.  Does he not realize that Russia and Iran have full diplomatic relations – you know, that rogue nation that Rush and Republicans went ballistic over with Obama’s deal with Iran as leading to world wide nuclear holocaust - while we do not have diplomatic relations with Iran and are in fact still imposing sanctions on this country?  Or a third possible parse: Trump is so deep in league with the Russians for handing him the 2016 Presidential elections that he’s rewarding them?  All are equally repugnant.

As news of the Post’s damaging revelations became public, I went to the Post’s online edition and to Politico.   I was shocked at the number of posts that were negative about the story – your typical “lamestream media lies,” “liberals trying to destroy Trump,”  “biased Post’s Fake News” that the right wing always floods comment boards with.  Nearly half of the comments were along this vein and the numbers were staggering.  But maybe it’s not so surprising when you consider that Russia did rig our last Presidential Election.  I’m not sure what other conclusion one could come to other than the comments were being posted by Russian online slugs.  Nothing else really makes sense.

No matter what Trump’s motivation – ignorance or payback – he has greatly damaged America’s ability to share highly classified information with other nations around the world.  Think, for a moment, if you are the French intelligence services or Great Britain’s MI-6.  How much can our allies trust us now that they have seen just how careless and dangerous is the President of the United States in his “handling” of the utmost privileged information we have within our own intelligence agencies?  And yet all through the Presidential campaign, Trump time and time again castigated Hillary Clinton for her treasonous handling of classified information.  Damn!

This, I think, is not going to end well for Trump.  And God knows how it’s going to affect the rest of us when it comes to other nation’s willingness to share classified information that can thwart terrorist attacks right here in the United States.  As I noted above, Trump has committed two felonies that only he, as President, cannot be prosecuted for.   You and me and every other American can and would surely be prosecuted for such a crime.

I’m itching to hear what Rush has to say about this tomorrow on his radio program.  Guaranteed that he will blame us liberals for all the kerfuffle about the latest Trump “mistake” and proclaim that this is just another piece of the overwhelming evidence that proves that the liberal press, the Obama Deep State Apparatus and us Trump protesters are out to destroy the Trump Presidency.  Well, he’s pretty much right about this.  I’ll let you know tomorrow his actual words on the matter.

As a parting shot, I have to ask where is all the Republican outrage that they showed over Benghazi?     CRICKETS!!!! SILENCE!!!!! HYPOCRISY!!!!!

But Folks, It’s Trumpland And Apparently Anything Goes.

PS: I've met and worked with literally hundreds of American troops in both Iraq and Afghanistan.  I was impressed with their integrity, patriotism and dedication.  (Their humorous takes also at their pretty abdominal working conditions!)  But I have to wonder about the additional 3,000 troops who will be sent to Afghanistan or, perhaps, to North Korea if Trump gets his way, if they will exhibit the same attitudes now that they know their President has acted in a treasonous manner  and undermined our national security.
