HOLY SHIT BATMAN! WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON IN GOTHAM?

WELL, ROBIN, LOOKS LIKE WE GOT A NEST OF TRAITORS ON THE LOOSE!

TRUMP SON-IN-LAW JARED KUSHNER:

BUSTED!       BUSTED!     BUSTED!

One of my all-time favorite movie series ever is the Bourne franchise.  I don’t typically take to gun fight, car chase and car crash movies but the Bourne series is so full of mysteries, sudden turnings, revelations and barely believable exposes as to make watching them a true joy.  And you have to admit that sexy Matt Damon really was born to play Jason Bourne.  But good as “The Bourne Identity” and the rest of the franchise is, it seems that right here in the United States of America we have, not a movie thriller-mystery on our hands, but an action packed, can’t keep up with the latest mystery revelations, edge-of-your-seat, real life thriller that even Hollywood couldn’t dream up.  Comparisons to Watergate?  No way.  Russiagate is unraveling faster than an outbreak of the Ebola Virus in West Africa.  And hang on folks: just like in the movies there is surely much more to come.

One of the big mysteries of the entire Russiagate scandal is why Kushner, Flynn, Manafort and company didn’t seem to think about whether or not their meetings and conversations with foreign officials whether in person, by phone or computer were being monitored.  Look, since the passage of the Patriot Act, officially known as "Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001,” (whoever the hell came up with this title deserves a place in the “Government Doublespeak Hall of Fame’) I’ve assumed that every single phone call I make or receive and every single keystroke I punch out on my keyboard is monitored.  But these guys?  What the fuck were they thinking?  Or were they not thinking?

The latest Washington Post revelation comes to us courtesy of an anonymous letter that the Post received back in December of 2016 and apparently it outlines not only Jared Kushner’s request of the Russian Ambassador, Sergei Kislyak, to set up a secure, secret communications line between the Russian Embassy (Yes, the Russian Embassy for God’s sake!) to Moscow, but a whole lot of other potentially treasonous activities by Team Trump as well.   So is it that the First Son-In-Law is just too stupid to have known that every breath Kislyak takes is recorded by the NSA or the CIA?  Is this it?  Naive maybe?  Or is it that the entire Trump family is so used to being able to control everything in their nefarious dealings with money laundering overseas banks or their ability to successfully spin what would otherwise be damaging leaks to the New York press with a couple of phone calls, that they thought they could do the same here in Washington?  If it’s either case it reveals a total lack of knowledge about how Washington works and/or a kind of arrogant hubris that is usually associated with Mafia Dons.

But let’s zoom out for a moment and take stock of where we are.  It took just under two years with the slow drip, drip, drip of leaks, a Special Prosecutor, House and Senate investigations, and the undercover work of the Post’s Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward to travel from a “third rate burglary” at the DNC Headquarters in the Watergate Office Building to Nixon’s resignation on August 8, 1974.  We are now into day 138 – that’s just over four months – and we’ve travelled from unsubstantiated rumors of “Russia influencing the 2016 Presidential Election” to Jared Kushner, the President’s son-in-law and Everything Policy Advisor, (a White House Staffer, let’s say) having been tagged with a potentially treasonous act willfully committed and unabashedly explosive.  And let's recall that Nixon's Watergate was about political operatives stealing documents from the Democrats - a fairly mundane event that Wikileaks pulled off this time around.  But what we are dealing with Team Trump is assisting an adversary nation's, Russia, activities in attempting to undermine our very democracy.  Holy Shit!

Even this morning I just heard conservative apologist, Charles Krauthammer, state on national TV (CBS, as a matter of fact), “Where’s the proof here?  (echoing that famous Burger King "Where's The Beef?" commercial)  There’s no story here.”  This has been and will no doubt continue to be the spin theme from Trumpland following the initial rumblings of “something’s terribly wrong in Gotham” that we heard only after Trump was inaugurated and only after James Comey publicly commented on Hillary Clinton’s e-mail “scandal” but not on what was then a more than six month old investigation into Russia's election influence and potential connections with Team Trump.  Apparently, Kushner is not denying what the Post and Reuter’s are saying about meeting with the Russian Ambassador to establish a “secret, secure line of communications” between the Russian Embassy and Moscow, but that he (and Flynn who apparently was also present) offers the explanation that it was to facilitate “negotiations” with Russia over Syria.  Well, maybe.  Yes, it’s possible.   He's also claiming that he "has no recollection of such discussions with Kislyak" i.e. setting up a secret, secure communications link.  But remember that this occurred (if true, of course) when Trump hadn’t yet been inaugurated so Kushner was acting as a private citizen in his dealings with Ambassador Kislyak, not in any official U.S. Government capacity.  I’m quite sure that if you or me had suggested to the Russian Ambassador, “Hey, Sergei.  How about setting up a top secret communications line from your embassy to President Putin in Moscow?  Just asking!” we would immediately be hauled down to the FBI’s Headquarters on E Street in Downtown Washington and probably tortured.  (OK, no, not tortured.  I guess, anyway.)

I’m anxiously looking forward to listening to Rush’s Monday broadcast (it’s a holiday so I may have to wait until Tuesday) to see how he “explains” this latest bombshell.  No doubt he’ll be foaming at the mouth over the “leakers” and why aren’t they under arrest?  But as the Russian smoke lightens just a tad it seems as if all those “Deep State Subversives” in the Federal Government aren’t just pissed off that Trump was certified by the Electoral College as the 45th President but are extremely concerned about Team Trump’s efforts to obliterate any and all evidence of Russian cooperation and/or collusion.  They are rightly concerned that the Trump Administration is subverting our democratic processes and institutions.  These men and women are true American Patriots.

I was astounded during last year’s Presidential Campaign when Trump continued to slam the FBI, CIA and NSA – our intelligence and law enforcement agencies.  I couldn’t figure out why he would do this since, if he became President, these folks would remember how he impugned their honesty, patriotism and dedication and would undoubtedly be terrifically pissed about these attacks on their integrity.  Trump didn’t think that at least some portion of the Federal Establishment would remember and fight back?  Sure, take on the Labor Department or HUD, but the FBI, CIA and NSA are not government agencies to be toyed around with.

But now it looks as if it was a tactic, the very same tactic that Trump has used continuously in attempting to undermine another American institution, the media.  This leads me to conclude that Trump, Kushner, Flynn, Manafort and the entire mafia-style Trump Administration apparently believe the Limbaugh, Breitbart and Infowars claims that the government is inept, corrupt, and populated with men and women who spend their days playing “Grand Theft Auto” on their government issued computers or crocheting doilies for their dining room table or jerking off in the fifth floor men’s room (the males, of course) rather than actually doing their jobs.   I can’t figure out why all these Trump folks could otherwise be so stupid as to think that they could brazenly get away with the things that they – allegedly - have.  Naturally, the right wingers and Trump voters will continue with the “It’s The Left Wing Media Trying To Undermine Trump” fantasy but consider that, so far, nearly all of the “liberal media leaks” have yet to be disproved.   They are all hanging out there awaiting verification by the Special Counsel, U.S. Attorneys, and/or the House and Senate investigations.

And why do I think the FBI already has the goods on Russiagate?  Regarding the extemporaneous memos FBI Director, James Comey, recorded about what was then a still secret investigation into all things Trump/Russian, here’s what one source had to say about them:

“The Bureau has them all,” the source close to Comey said. “They’ve always had them all. That’s another thing that people sort of missed the point of. These memos weren’t just some personal little effort on the part of Jim. He was the tip of the operation, and knew it, and really felt accountable to the rest of the people around him to tell them what is going on and help them be a part of the decision-making on what he should say and do.”

“Holy Crap Batman! You mean to tell me that the FBI already has the goods on the Trump Team?”

“Well, Robin, it kind of looks that way doesn’t it!”

This is what those lazy, mooching, masturbating-in-the-mens-room Government slugs do.  This is their job.  And most of them do it quite well.  Kushner's father served jail time for underestimating the work ethic of government slugs.  Has son Jared done the same?

And Gotham Will Never Be The Same Again.
