14 Arrested At Berkeley Protest Over Trump Tax Returns

Both Trump supporters and critics showed up at that rally, and local officials say more than a dozen people have been arrested. A couple people have also been injured, Berkeley Police spokesman Byron White told CNN.

Footage of the rally shows several protesters throwing each other around and whipping each other with what appears to be flag polls. At one point, a firecracker was thrown into the protest crowd, White said.
The organizers of Saturday's marches say more than 180 events were planned across 48 states and the District of Columbia.
By Saturday afternoon, images of crowds in cities including D.C., Philadelphia, Chicago and New York began cropping up on social media.

Trump has said that Americans "don't care at all" about his tax returns, but polls show 74% of Americans say he should release them. Many lawmakers, including some Republicans, have also called on him to make them public. And a petition demanding that Trump release his returns has garnered more than 1 million signatures.
For the past 40 years, every U.S. president and presidential candidate has released tax documents.

Still, the White House has not indicated Trump has any intentions of releasing his returns. So Trump critics are prepared to make some noise.

"We march to demand that the president release his returns, as he has repeatedly promised, but failed, to do," the Tax March website reads. "We march because it is in the best interest of the American people to know what financial entanglements and conflicts of interest our leaders have."

NOTE:  Now, you can be sure that the right wing media is going to be yelling and screaming about how aggressive and violent all the liberals and progressives were and just how we are destroying America and all the protesters should be tarred and feathered or jailed for being such unpatriotic Communists.  I mean forget that Trump and his climate change denier, Scott Pruitt, have pretty much vowed to destroy the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) or that in only 80 days or so, Trump has broken virtually every promise he made while campaigning or that every day it seems that more of the Trump Team are under investigation  by the FBI for assisting Putin’s Russia in rigging the Presidential Election.

But it’s we violent liberals and progressives who are putting America in danger and destroying the country.

I can hear Rush now – “What are these idiots protesting?  He doesn’t have to show us his tax returns.  There’s no law that says a President must release his tax returns.  This is just some far left movement to undermine President Trump.”  While the rest of us are pretty much consumed with finding out just how much Trump’s minions – and/or Trump himself – assisted the Russians in rigging the Presidential election - when we aren’t being distracted by missiles in Syria, bombs in Afghanistan and bombast about North Korea, Rush and the right wingers simply dismiss the Russian connections as a lamestream media concoction with absolutely no factual basis in reality.

In the end, if and when we reach it, they may be right and maybe all the meetings that weren’t disclosed, all the undocumented conversations and telephone transcripts the NSA and CIA have collected will amount to a Benghazi fake news event.  But then again maybe not and we here on the left are not pleased that these traitors might have worked hand in hand with Russian agents to get this monster of a President elected.

Just in case you might have missed it, here’s the right wing explanation for all the anti-Trump protests, including the World Wide Woman’s protests the day after his inauguration:  George Soros!

See how it works?  George Soros is behind everything anti-Trump and has zip to do with the fact that we liberals and progressives are simply pissed off as hell at the things that Trump is doing.

The Anti-Trump rallies around the country weren't front page news in the New York Times and the Washington Post this Easter morning.  But they should have been.

The Resistance Continues!
