So can someone tell me why Americans (perhaps “Americans” in name only) would work on behalf of dictatorial regimes rather than regimes that are attempting to promote democracy and freedom?  Could I see some power broker type working on behalf of the opposition to Robert Mugabe in Zimbabwe?  Or maybe helping to stabilize South Sudan?  Investigating corruption in Uzbekistan?  Sure.  Makes sense doesn’t it that representatives of the “Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave” would support governments that are democratic or attempting to become.

But every time the lid is blown from the cover stories of Trump’s “associates” who haven’t been forthcoming about their foreign “relations” it seems that every single one of them have worked for some of the worst governments in the world.  Now you can blindly assume that Russia is a dreamy hotbed of democratic ideals as Trump voters seem to or you could look at the actual facts about Putin’s regime.  And those facts include massive corruption, the suppression of the media, the invasion of sovereign nations and the plethora of Putin critics who mysteriously wind up dead.  And not from natural causes unless one considers poison a “natural cause” or a bullet to the head a natural cause as well.

Take the case of former Trump campaign manager, Paul Manafort.  Forget the allegations that Manafort has engaged in some nefarious financial dealings (later for this and all the other nefarious financial dealings with Alfa Bank and Cyprus Bank that seem to fall like autumn leaves when it comes to Trump associates like Carter Page and Roger Stone) but why the hell was he working in the Ukraine on behalf of Viktor Yanukovych who later fled to Russia following a year of street protests against his autocratic regime?  There weren’t any pro-democracy folks he could have hooked up with in the entire Ukraine?  No?

Then there’s Michael Flynn who was forced to resign after it was learned that he lied to the Vice President (who then publicly defended Flynn) about never having met the Russian Ambassador?  But now it’s been revealed that Flynn failed to register as a foreign agent while working for a company that lobbied for Turkey.  He was paid over half a million dollars over his three month stint.  And, just as an aside, Flynn wrote an op-ed piece advocating the extradition of Imam Muhammed Fethullah Gülen who has lived in the U.S. for 20 years but whom Turkey’s President, Recep Erdogan, claims was behind the attempted coup last year.

Turkey is a particularly sad case since after World War II under the leadership of Kamal Ataturk, the country was transformed into the leading Muslim country where modern norms were instituted.  Still a NATO ally, it is estimated that 70,000 Turks have been arrested in Erdogan’s purge of his opposition.  Sounds a bit like the Ukraine, except that Erdogan is still President while Yanukovych is long gone.

Now we both know that the Trump supporters are pooh-poohing all this Russian connections chatter emanating from the left wing liberal media who they firmly believe is really the culprit behind all the Trump bashing and the growing number of the Trump Team who have been outed as having had dealings with Russians.  It does not seem to impress them that as time goes on more and more such exposures have been revealed.  Then too, I suppose they also agree with Jeff Sessions that all of the “lies” (as the left wing liberal media has tagged them) are simply the forgetful and perfectly understandable mis-speaks of very busy, very powerful and very honest and upright citizens working day and night on their behalf.

Yeah, sure and I’ve got a Republican health care replacement for Obamacre that’s going to insure everyone with better coverage at dirt cheap prices.

Just ask House Speaker Paul “Never Met A Program That Actually Helped The Non-Rich That I Couldn’t Wait to Kill” Ryan (R-MN).

Just yesterday that liberal left wing biased media outlet, the New York Times, revealed that yet another Trump advisor, Roger Stone, contacted Guccifer 2.0 on Twitter, the mysterious online shadow figure that is believed to be a front for the Russian intelligence service.    But, of course, Trump supporters see nothing wrong with this, after all, we believe in free speech and freedom of association.

And in other Breaking News Headlines: The Congressional Budget Office released its scorecard on the Trump/Ryan American Deathcare Plan late Tuesday.  Apparently the super great and wonderful Republican/Trump/Ryan plan, according to them, isn't so great and wonderful.  Here’s a short summary from The Atlantic:

The Congressional Budget Office on Monday projected that the House leadership’s American Health Care Act would result in 24 million Americans losing their health insurance while raising premiums for those covered on the individual market. Their bill would lower federal deficits by $337 billion over 10 years, largely as a result of cuts to Medicaid that would reduce its enrollment by 14 million, according to the estimate. Average premiums would rise by as much as 20 percent in 2018 and 2019 before falling in later years.

So much for another Trump promise.

And in even more Breaking News Headlines:  Sean Spicer, Chief White House Propagandist, explained today why we all mistook Trump's accusation that Obama wiretapped him in Trump Tower.  Apparently, Trump was using a different definition of "wiretapped" that doesn't mean that Obama "wiretapped" him.     This, folks is NOT fake news.  Ask Sean Spicer!
