LET'S CUT THE CRAP ABOUT ALL THOSE JOBS ILLEGALS ARE PREVENTING WHITE FOLKS FROM TAKING
A RANDOM SMATTERING OF ALTERNATE SETS OF FACTS ABOUT ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS
From U.S. News and Report: Immigrants illegally in the U.S. collectively contribute nearly $12 billion each year to state and local tax coffers, according to a new report that challenges recent election cycle rhetoric.
The study from the Institute on Taxation & Economic Policy found that immigrants in the U.S. without legal permission kick in their billions in the form of income, property, sales or excise taxes.
There were roughly 11 million immigrants estimated to be in the U.S. illegally as of 2013, according to the report. And each and every state collects at least a few million dollars from tax payments made by such immigrants each year, ranging from Montana's $2.2 million to California's $3.2 billion.
"Regardless of the politically contentious nature of immigration reform, the data show undocumented immigrants greatly contribute to our nation's economy, not just in labor but also with tax dollars," Meg Wiehe, the institute's state tax policy director, said in a statement last week.
From Think Progress: Farm workers are among the lowest paid workers in the country, averaging only $15,000 to $17,000 per year and the poverty rates of farm workers is nearly double the national rate for wage and salary employees. Few receive fringe benefits (like sick leave) or employer-provided health insurance and many lack basic federal labor protections including entitlement to overtime pay, the right to collective bargaining, an array of occupational safety protections, and certain child labor law protections.
From: The New York Times: Analyses of census data from 1980 through 2010 show that among men ages 18 to 49, immigrants were one-half to one-fifth as likely to be incarcerated as those born in the United States. Across all ages and sexes, about 7 percent of the nation’s population are noncitizens, while figures from the Justice Department show that about 5 percent of inmates in state and federal prisons are noncitizens. Opponents of immigration often point out that in federal prisons, a much higher share of inmates, 22 percent, are noncitizens. But federal prisons hold a small fraction of the nation’s inmates, and in many ways, it is an unusual population. About one-third of noncitizen federal inmates are serving time for immigration offenses — usually re-entering the country illegally after being deported — that are not covered by state law.
And finally, here's a video from Russia's RT propaganda television station. Frankly, it seems that it's a bit more honest than a lot of others I've seen. Maybe the Trump Rust Belters who say that illegals are "taking their jobs" might want to take a look. Then too, since it's from Russia they might be more inclined to believe this one rather than any factual information from CNN or MSNBC or the AP.
Let's all recall that Trump's immigration roundup is based on a lie. Well, rather several lies but let's not quibble. 1) The Mexican Government is not sending thugs, rapists and murderers over the border. 2) There is no "flood" of illegal Mexicans entering the country. In fact, there has been a net outflow of Mexicans from America over the past couple of year. 3) A wall along our Southern border is not going to stop illegals from entering the country. Planes can fly over walls but apparently the Trump Administration doesn't know this. AND 4 THE BIGGEST LIE OF ALL: AMERICANS DO NOT WANT THE JOBS THAT ILLEGALS ARE DOING.
And that's my sermon for today.
Oh, one last thing. You might still believe as Your President has stated that ICE is only rounding up illegals who have committed crimes in a surgical strike. This is lie number 5.
Have A Great Day Folks! Although here in the Capital of the Free World we seem to be undergoing some sort of "climate anomaly." Yes. Last week it hit 80 degrees. Today it's freezing and we have snow showers! But even with the intrusions of the Trump Team here in Washington, we love our ultra liberal, multi-cultural, one-worldly city.
