AMERICA SINCE THE ELECTION OF DONALD J. TRUMP

Tracking the explosion of hate in Trump’s America Hate incidents have skyrocketed since Election Day. NOVEMBER 29, 2016
Think Progress, the folks who say they are going to call the “alt-right” what they are—white racists—has decided to track the incidents of hate that are occurring across the country. Beginning just hours after Donald Trump was (s)elected president of the United States, the Southern Poverty Law Center says it has received more than 700 notices of incidents of verbal and physical harassment and assault. Think Progress has made a visual of those incidents with a map of where they are occurring in the United States and to whom: To keep the project manageable, our bar for inclusion is intentionally high. We are not tracking more general instances of hate or racism that contribute to an overall culture of fear, such as general online harassment and graffiti with no clear target or intent. Instead, our map focuses on moments of more targeted harassment and hatred — such as …

DECIDING ON A PLACE TO LIVE FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE

Don’t know how many years – or days – I may have left to live out my remaining span of life.Probably no more than twenty years and that might be pushing it.But let’s say twenty just for the sake of argument.
Now, you might think that decision to move away from the United States to another country is the result of this year’s election of Donald J. Trump, the epitome of reality show politics morphing into real life. But if this is your view, you would be only half right.I’ve been thinking about shifting from the U.S. for several years now. On the other hand, the election of this deranged, non-human life form only spurs my desire to quit the U.S.India, a country that I am familiar with after nearly four decades of visits and work stays, was my original destination.
Then I spent a couple of months in Mexico a year ago and all my tentative India plans got scrambled.I fell in love with both the people of Mexico and the state of Guanajuato.B…

CAN WHITE MEN COMPETE IN THE DICK SIZE COMPETITION?

ADVISORY: I write this piece in a spirit of newsworthiness and fun.It contains language that might be offensive to some. But, if you are among the half of American voters who supported Trump, then you’ll be accustomed to “Tellin’ It Like It Is,” “Straight, Non-PC Language” “And Pussy Grabbing” as popular news items.
Okay, so the average size of White men’s cocks as opposed to the average size of Black men’s cocks, may not seem like some vital issue America needs to resolve immediately. But if you think that the question “Do Black Men Have Bigger Cocks Then White Men? “ is just a benign offshoot of the culture wars, for example, you would be wrong.Among White American males there is probably no single issue – income inequality, illegal immigration and gun control notwithstanding – that is a more important issue facing them (us) today. Now, of course, this is not a topic that The Donald or The Bern addressed in their political campaigns – …

REVOLUTIONARY FIDEL CASTRO DIES AT THE AGE OF 90

It was with a great deal of sadness that I heard of the passing yesterday of Fidel Castro, President of Cuba. Why did his death affect me?I’m not really sure.Is it because his life as a revolutionary created what is became the model for revolutionaries in the 20th Century?Or was it his defiance of American power since for decades while escaping the dozen or more assassination attempts carried out by the CIA?The failed Bay of Pigs operation, another unsuccessful CIA adventure?I guess for me he comes across the pages of history as a heroic, even mythic, figure endowed with a mythology that will surely outlive him.
Young people today must have a very different view of Castro if, indeed, they have one at all, than I do.Although a youngster of 15 during the Cuban Missile Crisis, I can still vividly recall the terror I felt as we “ducked and covered” under our flimsy desks at Greece Central School in preparation for the coming nuclear holocaus…
