SO WHERE WAS JUDICIAL WATCH WHEN THIS HAPPENED?
For those of us whose memories are able to recall things that happened a decade ago, the Bush Administration had it's own rather "remarkable" e-mail scandal back in the day. And this one wasn't about "potential" security threats or "potential" mis-classified communications. No. This one was about the deletion of millions of e-mails during a Congressional investigation. Yes, a Democratic investigation. One that involved the firing by the Bush Administration of at least eight U.S. Attorneys for refusing to pursue bogus, partisan cases against elected Democratic officials. Yes, that's right. During the Congressional investigations, it was revealed that dozens of White House Staffers (including Karl Rove) maintained private e-mail accounts with the Republican National Committee in violation of Federal record keeping regulations. It was alleged that these private accounts were used to circumvent the requirements of Federal regulations and to keep White House communications secret. Well, as subpoenas were issued by the Oversight Committee for the e-mails in accounts of White House officials kept on RNC servers, it was suddenly revealed that several millions of such e-mails had suddenly disappeared. Been deleted, let's say, or just simply vanished into the dark void of time and space. Here's a summary of the 'case of the disappearing millions of RNC e-mails:"
NOTE: Want to know what the FBI investigation and report said about the millions of disappearing e-mails and what actions the Justice Department took to punish the Bush Administration's wrong doing? Well, had there been such an investigation, report and Justice Department indictments we might know the final outcome of the "case of the disappearing RNC millions of e-mails." But there wasn't any. So we will never know.
Perspective, lIke facts, matters.
