HILLARY'S PRESS COVERAGE SUCKED

Harvard Study Confirms The Media Tore Down Clinton, Built Up Trump And Sanders
byCarter Maness June 16, 2016

It’s no secret that, from the moment she announced her candidacy back in April 2015, Hillary Clinton has been bludgeoned by negative media coverage. The email server; the Wall Street speaking fees; the attacks from both Trump and Sanders. I’ve debated with people who legitimately fear she will be imprisoned before the election. Some, despite the venomous dismissal of my rolling eyes, have called her a murderer. Others: an old woman, a plutocrat, a crook, abused by her husband, no backbone to speak of. But if you’ve suspected that there’s a reason people are saying these things—perhaps parroting disproportionately negative stories they’ve consumed in the media over the past year-and-a-half—it turns out you’re right. A new report released this week by Harvard Kennedy School’s Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics, and Public Policy found Clinton has received far more negative covera…

KHIZR KHAN FOR PRESIDENT?

Image
THE DAD WITH THE FUNNY MUSLIM NAME KNOWS MORE ABOUT THE U. S. CONSTITUTION THAN THE REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE.

What the fuck?I’m watching the Democratic Convention’s unchallenged superstar – no, not Hillary Clinton but Khizr Khan, father of U.S. Army Captain hero Humayun Khan who was killed protecting his troops in Afghanistan – speak about Donald Trump’s responses to his heart rending and ultimately Trump spearing speech last Thursday that remains probably the finest 15 minutes of patriotism and exposition of American “values” that we have witnessed in years. Not only is Khizr Khan an articulate speaker and passionate defender of America, he’s your “Every-Dad,” defending his Muslim son, his Muslim wife, his Muslim family, all Muslim Americans against the forces of hate and bigotry Trump represents in a way that is simply so fundamentally “American,” so deeply patriotic and so brilliantly fatherly as to defy and demolish any and all attacks from any quarter lobbed against him.T…

INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIC COMMITTEE

HBO's "REAL SPORTS WITH BRYANT GUMBEL" TELLS ALL AND IT'S PRETTY SHOCKING
Every once in a while, some scandal or other erupts involving Olympic athletes from one country or another, like the current one over Russian state sponsored doping.  Or you've probably seen all the reports of how "sketchy" the preparations have been for the Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Olympic Games beginning next week.  You know, the raw sewage pouring into the lagoon where the long distance swimming competition will occur, for example.  And hardly a year goes by that some summer or winter Games are way over budget, bankrupting London or Athens, or athletes caught with muscle enhancing drugs in their bloodstreams.

But it hadn't occurred to me that the folks who actually run the Olympics - manage the bidding, sign the contracts, investigate and punish wrongdoers - the International Olympic Committee (the "IOC") - might be the biggest scandal of them all.  This tough h…

Driving the Car
Getting into my car, I vow that I will drive with Mindful care and caution. If, in fact, this is my vehicle, For I often step into Someone else’s car By accident. If I have done so now, here in the parking lot of Stop & Shop. May I smile with self-compassion, And not curse my cluelessness, As the cars where I live are all Subaru’s, And all the same model, and all the same “jasmine green,” A bewildering forest of Foresters.
