WHAT DONALD TRUMP'S RALLIES ARE REALLY LIKE

A JOURNALIST WENT TO A DONALD

From Political Scrapbook
Jared Yates Sexton attended the Trump rally in North Carolina Tuesday night and live tweeted the event. What he witnessed was Confederate flags, racism, misogyny, Trump supporters “flipping off homeless” people, cruelty and hatred. A truck full of men yelled ‘Trump” at a family whose car was being towed.
In one tweet, Mr. Sexton wrote, ‘Overheard: Muslim ban “good for Muslims” let’s them “sit and think about what they’ve done.”‘
One Trump supporter yelled, “Gays had it coming” in obvious reference to the Orlando massacre. Sexton witnessed what he called “an ungodly amount of extremely drunk people” at the event.
Sexton’s tweets were captured on Storify and it highlights Trump’s base of supporters. Bigots, racists and soulless little creatures filled with hatred for others. I actually thought of attending since Greensboro is only a couple of hours from where I live. I’m so glad I didn’t because I do not like throwing up. Kudos to Mr. Sexton for not going all throat-punchy on the crowd of the presumptive GOP nominee’s ‘uneducated’ arseholes.
Most coverage of Donald Trump’s rallies are about people disrupting it. But one American journalist went there and quietly observed what was going on.
He came back shaken and scared.
Jared Yates Sexton is a writer and political correspondent from the state of Georgia.
Yesterday, Donald Trump held a rally in Greensboro, North Carolina. Sexton went there to cover the event, and wrote a series of tweets.
Here they are, in chronological order:

NOTE: I'm assuming that most of us were and are aware of the nature of Donald Trump's rallies.  But I think these real-time tweets are very illuminating.
