THANK GOD THAT FDR WASN'T A TEA PARTY REPUBLICAN

Sometimes, some Republican says something so stupid, we don't even need to explain why it's so profoundly idiotic. This is one of those times. Here's freshman GOP Rep. Steve Knight, at a debate with his two Democratic opponents Thursday night:
I think that Social Security was a bad idea. I do. I absolutely think it was a bad idea. I think that what should have happened was we should have had the government sit down with the private sector and build a system that people could take with them."
There's video, too—the kind of video that is ready-made for a Democratic attack ad. The question now is which Democrat will emerge to take on Knight. Attorney Bryan Caforio has caught the eye of national Democrats and has managed to bring in some (but not that much) money, though he has outraised the feeble Knight for the last two quarters. Agua Dulce Town Council member Lou Vince, meanwhile, has the endorsement of the state Democratic Party but has raised almost nothing.
Mitt Romney only carried California's 25th District by a 50-48 margin, and Knight has proven he's dumb enough to put this Los Angeles-area seat in play almost on his own, but it'll still take a strong effort from Democrats to dislodge him.

NOTE:  Right.  We should have left Social Security in the hands of the private sector.  He means, of course, the same private sector folks - Wall Street & Big Banks who brought us the worst worldwide economic collapse since the Great Depression in 1929.

Yeah.  That's what we should have done.

PS:  HERE'S ARE A FEW OF HIS TEA BAGGER POSITIONS:

Knight was sworn into office on January 6, 2015.
Knight is pro-life and believes that life begins at conception.  In September 2015, he co-sponsored the Women's Public Health and Safety Act, designed to allow individual states to determine if an abortion provider qualifies for Medicaid programs.
On January 8, 2016, Knight voted for HR 1927, the Fairness in Class Action Litigation and Furthering Asbestos Claim Transparency Act of 2016, a bill to prohibit a federal court from granting monetary relief for personal injury or economic loss to a party bringing a class action lawsuit, unless the party demonstrates that each proposed member suffered the same type and scope of injury as the class representative.
Knight is a supporter of Second Amendment rights.
Knight believes that the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) should be repealed.
In April 2015, Knight had a verbal altercation with a protester. After the protester touched him, Knight threatened him. Knight later apologized.
In April 2015, Knight voted to impose a one-year delay on new Department of Defense rules designed to shield military families from abusive terms on payday loans and other forms of expensive short-term credit.

ANY MORE DOUBTS THAT ALL THESE TEA BAGGER/FREEDOM CAUCUS TYPES MUST BE VOTED OUT OF OFFICE?
