REPUBLICANS EXEMPT THEMSELVES FROM EVER BEING PROSECUTED FOR A CRIME

REPUBLICANS TRY PASSING BILL TO PREVENT THEM FROM EVER BEING ARRESTED FOR CORRUPTION

DAILY KOS
No, this is not The Onion and that is not a fake headline. Republican lawmakers, realizing that most of them engage in corruption and cheat to win, are making sure they never have to be held accountable…like ever.
We all know that politicians are blood-sucking parasites who make corruption a professional sport. That has been known since the inception of democracy. But never before have they been so audacious as to try passing legislation that completely exempts them from any prosecution or arrest for said acts. That’s exactly what we need!
Representative Kevin Calvey (R – Oklahoma City) recently  introduced House Bill 2206, which, I sh*t you not, seeks to prevent Oklahoma’s district attorneys from prosecuting state officials. Further,  reserving that power exclusively to the state’s Attorney General. Therefore, exempting lawmakers from prosecution of nearly any crimes that are normally handled at the local level.

From the bill, Via MintPressNews:
The jurisdiction of a prosecution against a principal in the commission of a public offense, when such principal is a state elected official, state legislator, district court judicial officer, appellate judicial officer or an appointee of a state board or state commission at the time of the commission of the offense, is within the sole and exclusive prosecutorial authority of the Attorney General of Oklahoma. Such an action must be filed in the county of residence of the state officer.
Naturally, the bill is not going over so well with Oklahoma’s district attorneys
"It’s a big deal to me. I’m upset and concerned, Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater explained. This bill creates a different class of citizens that would be protected from the normal prosecution process.
Adding, I am suspicious … that is what this is really about".
Unbelievably, the bill doesn’t mention any specific type of crimes would qualify for exemption, thereby preventing any prosecution at the local level. In other words, a state Senator can murder someone and get away with it. Ok, maybe that might be a stretch, but still.
Have you ever seen such a flagrant boast of being above-the-law?

NOTE:  Do not know what to make of this.

Have a good day!
