PORN HUB DENIES PORN SERVICE TO NORTH CAROLINA CONSUMERS

BACKLASH CONTINUES AGAINST ANTI LGBT LAWS

While it’s fairly certain that Porn Hub doesn’t have a legal leg to stand on in denying the citizens of North Carolina service (for the time being they get a black screen when they attempt to access Porn Hub’s offerings), I would love to be in the courtroom where this potential legal wrangle might take place.  Imagine the testimony of the plaintiffs:

“Well, your honor, I was trying to watch the “Dusty Does the Dallas Cowboys” clip I tagged as a favorite but Porn Hub wouldn’t let me.  It’s just not right.”

“Sir, as a red blooded, patriotic American citizen who pays taxes, I demand to be able to access “Long Dong Silver Does Anita Hill” whenever I want to.  This denial of service is just an outrageous attack on Free Speech.”

“Yesterday when I tried to log into Porn Hub, I got a black screen.  Today I read that Porn Hub had denied service to people with NC IP addresses.  Does this mean that I’ll have to drive over the border to South Carolina in order to watch Gigi Allen and Angel Capelli making out from now on?”

“Judge, I know you may not agree with Craig’s and my decision to marry, and I appreciate that.  But this is just way too much.  After all what right does Porn Hub have to prevent me from watching “Todd Takes It In The Ass Six Times And Comes Back For More?” I mean, really your honor.”

“Sir, if you please.  I’m from Texas although now I’m a temporary student here in North Carolina.  Now in Texas, I can see all the porn I want to – 24/7 let’s say – even “Alicia Does The Back Door Nasty” whenever I’m in the mood.  Why is it I can’t see it here?  Has Obama done something?  It’s really unfair, sir.”

Trust me, I would pay to see these North Carolinians pleading their case in a courtroom of law.  But it’s not gonna happen.  But it does look like North Carolina, Mississippi, Tennessee and all the other Red States that have passed new anti- LGBT laws are getting a whole lot of pushback.  Pushback from us liberals, let’s say, who’ve watched the right wing do similarly stupid shit over the past couple of decades and we’ve had just about enough of all this stupid crap.

This, in fact, is what’s different from even a short five or so years ago.  Sure, had this happened in 2011 there would have been a flurry of outrage from the Human Rights Commission, the Gay Alliance, Transgender America and some other groups, but that would have been it.  But today, PayPal has announced that they have dropped expansion plans in North Carolina, Bruce Springsteen has cancelled a concert there, Lionsgate, currently filming a musical based on the wildly popular movie “Dirty Dancing" in NC, has said it will not work there any more, 120 businesses sent a letter to NC Governor McCrory objecting to the law and New York’s Governor Cuomo banned New York State government employees from travel to NC.   Just today, McCrory issued a “clarification” of the law which does nothing to change its impact despite the backlash.

Me?  I’m thrilled. Finally liberals are waking up and not sitting on the sidelines as right wing, Red State conservatives and the Freedom Caucus continue to ignore the law and the Constitution, which, the last time I looked, actually applied to all U.S. citizens irrespective of race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, identity and transgender status.  Enough is enough.  I’m hopeful that the newly energized left will continue to grow and flourish right up until the November 8 elections this year.  It’s about time all the brain dead, fact less, bigoted right wingers got booted from local, state and national elected offices.   Let’s all work to make sure that we stop Republicans from doing more stupid shit.

Frankly, Porn Hub’s denial of service to North Carolina’s porn consumers, (what? 98% of every man in the state) is really funny.  It’s kind of like hitting them where it really matters.  In the crotch.  I could not think of a more appropriate, more perfect response to the adoption of North Carolina’s anti-LGBT hate law.

Way To Go Porn Hub!

Oh wait!  Another news flash that I simply could not pass up.

Likely the last thing you’d ever want to envision is Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz with adult toys, or doing things to himself, but hey, this is America, and hypocrites need to be called out.
As Mother Jones just reminded us, Ted Cruz defended a ban on adult toys. In fact, “he helped defend a law criminalizing the sale” said toys. You see, Texas, the state where the senator is from (besides Canada), has a law that outlaws these “obscene” devices. Ted Cruz found it un-American to self-stimulate yourself with such a thing, and according to The Week :
“Cruz’s office defended the obscenity law by saying that “any alleged right associated with obscene devices” is not “deeply rooted in the Nation’s history and traditions.””
I’m sure this is what the Founders of our nation were thinking about when declaring war on England, and writing up the Constitution. Jefferson was probably all like, “oh, yes, we mustn’t forget the devices used for self-pleasure. They must be strictly prohibited.” Probably not.
Anyway, all of that aside, enter Craig Mazin, Ted Cruz’s freshman roommate at Princeton. He just took to Twitter with likely the best burn ever to be written calling out the Texas junior senator’s hypocrisy. He wrote:

Now that you’ve picked yourself up off the floor after laughing incredibly hard, you’ll now have that image in your head for the rest of your day. BUT knowing Ted Cruz was just utterly humiliated in such a pretty amazing way may make it all worth it.

And there you have it folks. Today's really important news items!
