After a dozen or so incidents of manhandling and forcible ejections of peaceable protestors at Trump political rallies over the past few weeks, scuffles both inside and outside a rally scheduled for yesterday caused Trump to cancel his rally at the University of Illinois.  Chicago, by the way, is not known for suffering the idiocies of fools and hucksters.  Those of you of an age, (old!), will recall the police riots in 1968 during the Chicago Democratic Convention in Chicago and once might assume that Trump did not want a reply of that horrendous incident.  (Of course, it’s also worth recalling that those protestors were demonstrating against the war in Viet Nam, a war that cost the lives of over 58,000 American soldiers and not over building a wall along the Rio Grande river to keep out raping, murdering Messican thugs.)

Last Wednesday, after Rakeem Jones and friend shouted “Bigot!” at a Trump rally in Fayetteville, North Carolina, he and his friend were quickly hustled out by security forces.  Rakeem was punched by one John McGraw of Linden, NC, as Trump bleated from the podium: “Why are they allowed to do things that we’re not even allowed to do?  Really a disgrace!”

Now, far be it for me to point out that in this age when the Texas Legislature passes a law to allow six year olds to possess firearms (under parental supervision, naturally) the irony of Trump’s “non-PC, tell it like it is” supporters, that just like the right of the misinterpreted Second Amendment to bear arms at any age, there is also the pesky First Amendment that guarantees the rights of Free Speech and Assembly.  But The Donald and his supporters brook no dissent from anyone. And they apparently don't think that the Constitution applies to anyone who isn't White.

In the end, however, 78 year old Mr. McGraw was charged with disorderly conduct after Kareem was wrestled to the floor by Trump goons (and not him for actually throwing the punch) and only after a video of the event went viral, two days later.  Well, I suppose justice delayed is justice after all.  But here’s what Mr. McGraw had to say in an interview with CBS’ “Inside Edition:

”You bet I liked it.  We don’t know if he’s [Kareem – note the foreign first name although Jones is pretty solidly American] ISIS.  We don’t know who he is, but we know he’s not acting like an American and cussing me…[not sure which Constitutional Amendment prohibits cussing] …He deserved it.  The next time we see him, we might have to kill him.  We don’t know who he is.  He might be with a terrorist organization.”

Mr. McGraw was "telling it like it is" in characteristically non-PC Trumpette terms.

Mr. McGraw relayed his “feelings” prior to being charged.  No word if he’s modified his “feelings” as of today.  Once again, conservatives don’t seem to “get” the concept of “irony,” this total lack of self-awareness is as endemic among the Republican crowd as is the Zika virus in Latin America.  But in true, real-patriotic, Tea Bagger, conservative lifestyles, John McGraw was exercising those fundamental tenets of conservative philosophy:  “personal responsibility” and “individual initiative.”  Think that someone shouting “Bigot” at a Trump rally might be a terrorist?  Damn straight you better exercise your Constitutionally protected rights of individual responsibility to take that threat out before he blows himself up.  Wait.  Oh, no. These "rights"  don't actually appear in the Constitution do they?  My bad!

Naturally, the Storm Troopers who hustled Kareem and his friend out of the arena are to be forgiven for making a mistake in ejecting the victim of violence rather than the perpetrator.  After all, Kareem and his friend are Black.

As far as I know, having actually read the Constitution several times, I'm a little fuzzy about where the right to take out potential and suspected ISIS terrorists personally was included by our Founding Fathers.  Seems like that individual initiative right should fall to the FBI or the CIA or some other law enforcement agency.  Then again - gun rights for five year olds?

And The Donald’s response to these incidents - which are increasing in number and violence -  at his “True Blue Tell It Like It Is Make America Great Again” campaign rallies?

“God why do you create fools? You can’t even have a rally in a major city in this country anymore without violence or potential violence.  I didn’t want to see the real violence, and that’s why I decided to call it off.”

Hillary Clinton, weak, muddled, all-out-PC, anti-patriotic American that she is, had this to say:

“You know, you don’t make America great by, you know, dumping on everything that made America great, like freedom of speech and assembly and, you know, the right of people to protest.”

How sad that the current Democratic front runner for the Presidency is so fundamentally ignorant of the Constitution and what it means to be a true, blue patriotic American.

And thus ends another Trump Day.  Oh, no wait.  I mean “Daylight Savings Day.”  Sorry for the temporary mental confusion.

Carry On.  All Is Well!
