DR. BEN CARSON PULLS AHEAD OF TRUMP IN NATIONAL POLLS

Carson Wants to Overturn Roe v. Wade
Apparently Republicans are beginning to tire of The Donald's Magical Mystery Shouting Tour as he races across the country to to garner support for building a 30 foot wall from San Diego to Houston.  So it seems as if they are turning to the mild mannered, soft-spoken, pediatric surgeon Dr. Ben Carson, Black Republican Extraordinaire, as a less bombastic alternative to the "YOU'RE FIRED" reality TV showman billionaire who, until now, has pretty much dominated the polls. Dr. Ben Carson does have some bonafides to his credit:  in 1987 he was the first surgeon in the country to separate twins with co-joined brains.  So what the hell happened?    Now I'm not exactly certain if all those Carson supporters are actually listening to what Carson is saying but he's said some "interesting" things.  Like:

“ I think most people when they finish that course, they’d be ready to go sign up for ISIS” (Carson claiming AP history courses in Civil Disobedience will cause students to join terrorist group.)

“I mean, [America is] very much like Nazi Germany.  And I know you’re not supposed to say “Nazi Germany,” but I don’t care about political correctness.  You know, you had a government using its tools to intimidate a population.  We now live in a society where people are afraid to say what they actually believe.”

“[Obamacare is] the worst thing that has happened in this nation since slavery.  In a way, it is slavery, because it is making us all subservient to the government.”

“Because a lot of people who go into prison go into prison straight — and when they come out, they’re gay. So, did something happen while they were in there? Ask yourself that question.”

"There comes a time when people with values simply have to stand up. Think about Nazi Germany. Most of those people did not believe in what Hitler was doing. But did they speak up? Did they stand up for what they believe in? They did not, and you saw what happened.”

"My thoughts are that marriage is between a man and a woman. It’s a well-established, fundamental pillar of society, and no group — be they gays, be they NAMBLA*, be they people who believe in bestiality — it doesn’t matter what they are — they don’t get to change the definition.”

“So if there were a container of contaminated urine, and somehow it managed to find its way to someplace a lot of damage could be done. Someone comes up to a lab worker. He knows he’s got the urine. ‘How would you like to have a million dollars?’ … Such things have been known to happen.”  (Carson “explaining” how the Ebola virus could be used as a weapon of mass destruction.)

I have not included his recent quote that "if the 250,000 Jews in Germany during Hitler's rise to power had been armed they could have stopped him" but this one is not only offensive to Jews and history, it's really offensive to all humanity.

Ben Carson said he would "love" to see Roe v. Wade overturned during an interview on Meet the Press on Sunday. "I'm a reasonable person and if people can come up with a reasonable explanation of why they would like to kill a baby, I'll listen," Carson said. He opposes abortions for cases involving rape and incest but could make an exception to allow for the health and safety of the mother.
"That's an extraordinarily rare situation. But if in that very rare situation it occurred, I believe there's room to discuss that," Carson said. He had previously suggested that women who were victims of rape or incest should be allowed to take an "abortion pill," referring to RU-486.
“I would hope that they would very quickly avail themselves of the emergency room, and in the emergency room, they have the ability to administer RU-486 and other possibilities before you have a developing fetus," he said in an August interview.

Just last week, Carson didn't directly answer a question about whether he would like to see Roe v. Wade overturned. “I favor life. That’s what I favor,” Carson said when asked about the Supreme Court case. He claimed that he would appoint Supreme Court justices who “understand that a baby in the uterus is a human being and is protected by the Constitution.” Carson's campaign has not responded to a request for comment on why he decided to directly answer the question now.

All right.  Enough of this.  With this latest in a series of Dr. Ben Carson quotes from the campaign field that seem to belie the fact that somehow he had sufficient brain matter to earn a medical doctor’s degree, that he apparently earned a reputation at Johns Hopkins as an excellent  pediatric surgeon (and used fetal tissue in his research according to some), I’ve finally figured it out.  Maybe I’m late to this, but it’s my best guess that Dr. Carson is one of those candidates who will alter his rock-solid, never to be changed, always consistent from birth views and positions to suit those whose votes he needs to be nominated as the Republican candidate for the President.   I guess I was holding off this judgment since he is a Black Republican and unlike that Florida Congressman last time around in 2012, Allen West, who was simply crazy, I thought Dr. Carson did have a level of intelligence and integrity that West certainly did not.  But no more.  As far as I’m concerned he just as bad as Scott Walker, Bobby Jindal  and Sam Brownback and those Freedom Caucus crazies who can’t think outside the radical right wing box.

THIS IS THE BEST REPUBLICANS HAVE TO OFFER?
