HOUSE REPUBLICANS TARGET ANOTHER LOCAL DC LAW
NOT ONLY DO WE DC RESIDENTS HAVE NO REPRESENTATION IN CONGRESS, CONGRESS JUST CAN'T SEEM TO LEAVE US ALONE!
Article in this morning's Washington Post tells of the continuing struggle those of us who live in Washington, D.C. and the U. S. Congress who won't let our City Council enact the laws we want. Sure, no question, DC is one of the most liberal cities in the nation and, as recent news articles have proclaimed, the nation's gayest of cities too surpassing both New York and San Francisco in this regard.

So there you have it. Once again, let me point out that us residents of the Capital of the Free World do pay our Federal Income Taxes and we do get to vote in Presidential elections. And yet even though we have more people than two "official" states, Vermont and Wyoming, we don't get to elect two Senators to the U.S. Senate nor do we get to elect representatives to the U.S. House of Representatives. It's called "Taxation Without Representation," you know, that famous freedom cry that started the American Revolution?
